OVERVIEW

The Department of Food Technology was established in the year 2020 in SRR & CVR GDC, Vijayawada as a restructure course, with an objective to produce young professionals to cater to the needs of growing food industry. The course is offered with a combination of Microbiology and Biochemistry. The department also organizes curriculum enrichment activities like seminars, model making, chart preparation, experts’ guest and extensive lectures, workshops, field trips etc.

VISION

Develop innovative food processing and preservation techniques to prevent surplus food wastage and make food available to all.

MISSION

  1. Impart sound knowledge, fundamental skills in the field of Food Technology in order to prepare them for a position in global industries and continue for advanced degrees in Food Technology or related disciplines.
  2. Inculcate research aptitude in students in order to develop new food products which ultimately benefit the food industry and consumers.
  3. The main objective is to enable students to become entrepreneurs so that they create employment rather than searching for employment.
