Women Empowerment is the most important tool for the upliftment and progress of our nation.The Cell aiming at intellectual and social upliftment of the female students, works with an aim to create a gender sensitized community in the society. The cell worksto facilitating women's empowerment through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programs, cultural, business,and other welfare activitiesand spread the real importance of gender equality in the society.
Vision:
- Enlightening the women to understand their potential and compete for equal opportunities.
Mission:
- Creating awareness among the students about the social, legal, and constitutional rights of women to prevent the exploitation based on gender.
- Spreading awareness on sexual, physical, and mental violence and to further equip with the strength to fight against them.
- Encouraging female students to be self-reliant and economically independent through giving business opportunities.
- Providing a platform to share and showcase their ideas and views for a professional success.
Objectives:
- The main objective of WEC is to investigate the grievances of teaching staff, non-teaching staff and students especially in cases of gender discrimination and sexual harassment.
- To identify and promote the strong leadership and growth of women as individuals.
- To develop positive self-esteem and confidence in the women in building their capacity.
- Training the students to be self-reliant and economically independentby utilizing the available opportunities and resources.
Future Plan of Action:
- To spread the importance and ways for women empowerment and gender equality various talks, workshops and events will be organized. These programmes will also provide To help battling examination stress, the Cell is planning to provide continuous medical facilities like counselling sessions and psychologist visits in the college.
- For a healthy and fit life, yoga camps and aerobics classes will also be organized by the Cell.
- a platform to female students to showcase their hidden skills and talents.
- To start a short term employable courses with the objective of increasing the skills and establish own firms and to become financially stable.
